Post Race Report-2025 Sebring

Sebring International Raceway was the host to kick off the 2025 Cube3 Architecture TA2 series season.  After just testing at the 3.74 mile road course last month, Cale looked to put that seat time and promising speed to good use and start the season strong.

For the first time in his Trans Am career, Cale saw a new crew chief at the helm of his #99 as Dan Spangler takes over for Derrike Cope this season.  The two quickly gelled during the pre-season testing and continued to gain confidence throughout the weekend.  The guys from Nitro Motorsports were able to do some fine tuning on the car throughout the test and practice sessions, and Cale was able to pick up speed each time he went out.  After qualifying was complete for the 39-car field, Cale found himself in the 26th starting position overall, and 4th in the Pro/Am class.

In a chaotic race that saw several laps run under caution, Cale was able to stay out of trouble and avoid some close calls on several occasions.  Although he lost a few spots on the initial start and some subsequent restarts, he was able to gain positions on the final restart and be in contention for a podium spot in the Pro/Am class coming to the checkered flag.  Unfortunately, he came up a half a car length short at the line, to finish 4th in Pro/Am and 16th overall.

“Man, I wish we could’ve had more green flag laps today, I felt I had good enough pace to be able to make some passes and move farther up.  Unfortunately, I was losing positions on the restarts and not having enough green flag laps to make the spots back up.  Overall though, happy with the finish and glad to finally take a checkered flag here at Sebring.  That is something I haven’t been able to do the past two seasons.  We are running for a championship in Pro/Am this year, so this is a good start for points.  Thanks to Nitro Motorsports for all their hard work, and excited to head to Road Atlanta next month.”

CP Racing’s next race will be in TransAm TA2 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for the Road Atlanta SpeedTour event.  The race will be Sunday, March 23rd.
