Post Race Report - 2024 Rd Atlanta

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta hosted round two of the 2024 Cube3 Architecture TA2 series season. Although Cale has raced the famed road course numerous times at the club level, this would mark Cale’s first trip to Road Atlanta in the TA2 series after missing last years event due to injury.

The car only needed minor changes throughout the practice sessions, and Cale was able to pickup speed each time he went out. Unfortunately qualifying would be cancelled due to weather, so the thirty-one car field would be gridded for the race based on practice times. That meant starting in the 26th starting position overall, and 9th in the ProAm class.

Right from the start Cale was able to make up several spots and begin his charge forward. Although his car lacked a bit of drive off the corner on the long run, Cale was able to move his way up to 12th place overall, and 4th in ProAm, by the time the checkered flag flew at the end of the 40 lap race. The result is his best finish to date in the series, and he was also awarded the Bassett Wheels hard charger award for gaining the most positions during the race.

“Really excited with a 12th place finish.  I knew we were better than our 26th starting position, so I am glad we were able to get the result.  The hardest part when you start that far back in the pack is just staying out of trouble, but luckily I was able to.  It was great to get the Hard Charger award for passing the most cars, really proud of that.  We are so close to a podium in ProAm. As always, thanks to the Nitro Motorsports guys for all the hard work this weekend.  Excited to build on this in a couple months at Mid-Ohio.”

Be sure to tune in to MAVTV this Thursday night (March 28th) at 8pm to catch the race highlight show of Road Atlanta.

The next race for Cale will be the Mid-Ohio SpeedTour at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington Ohio June 20-22.
